Experienced Lodge & Facilities & Equipment Maintenance Manager.
The job entails the management of the maintenance of the lodge facilities, infrastructure, equipment and vehicles.
This includes -accommodation (21 cabanas); restaurant; shop; bar; solar farm; motor vehicles & trailers ( busses; truck and front end loader); swimming pool ; shop; ablution facilities; managers houses (6); water treatment system; sewage systems; backup generator; irrigation systems; recycling plant; cold storage facilities; laundry; kitchens; store areas; roadways & pathways; workshop.
Experience and knowledge of the following is vital for this position – plumbing; electrical (domestic & high voltage); refrigeration; air conditioning; cold storage; carpentry; pumps; generators; vehicles; welding; gates & motors; building.
Other responsibilities: -
 Compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
 Manage the camp maintenance budget
 Perform duty manager responsibilities as per schedule and lodge management shifts during leave time.
 Assisting where necessary from time to time with other functions.
 Stock control and ordering systems.
 Management of the workshop and tools & equipment.
 Plan & schedule maintenance and servicing + preventive maintenance planning.
 Reporting of KPIs to management + attending management meetings.
 Source reliable suppliers and constantly strive to negotiate the best prices from them
 Control all maintenance related purchases
 Ensure your team, treats all equipment with care and are trained in their areas of responsibility
• Ensure stores are controlled
• Recruit and induct new staff as and when needed
• Identify training needs within the maintenance department
• Keep an attendance register
• Ensure that you are familiar with the HR policies and procedures manual and that you understand the disciplinary procedures
• Develop your teams and individuals
• Encourage, inspire and motivate staff
• You will endeavour to keep a par stock of spares that will allow you to effect emergency and other repairs efficiently
• The care for and purchase of tools and other equipment in your department will be your responsibility
• Ensure that tools and spares are neatly stored and packed away
• Perform a stock take of tools from time to time and report any shortfalls to the management
Other requirements: -
 Valid unendorsed Namibian driver’s license essential, ideally a code 10.
 Ideally previous experience in hospitality industry.
 Preferably a Namibian citizen
 Must have previous experience as a Maintenance Manager in a similar sized operation
• Able to handle pressure, and still operate effectively
• Energetic, proactive person
• Good interpersonal skills – able to function as part of a team
• Attention to detail and initiative
• Diligence and self-motivation to meet deadlines and keep on top of your job
• Willingness/ability to share information and teach and inspire others
Offer: -
Salary: N$18,500pm
Managers House; staff meals; electricity & water; gas for heating;
This is a permanent live-in position.
Transport to/from leave cycles is the successful candidate’s own responsibility
