Project Manager

CRONIMET Mining Power Solutions Namibia is a subsidiary of CRONIMET Mining Power Solutions GmbH. Together the company specializes in photovoltaic power solutions for the public sector and energy intensive industries and mining companies in Africa. Active across the entire PV project life cycle, CRONIMET plans, develops, engineers, finances, constructs and continues to operate and maintain the Independent Power Producers (IPP) it has developed. Our project develop focus is targeted towards smaller to medium scale on-grid power plants and off-grid captive PV hybrid (diesel, energy storage) power plants. Our geographical focus is bound largely to the African continent.
Based in Windhoek, the Project Manager will work together with a dynamic and international IPP development team and will play the key role among African markets throughout the entire project life cycle. This job involves comprehensive tasks in all aspects of the project management value chain.
Your responsibilities, whether greenfield, brownfield, early or late stage development, include a comprehensive action plan to determine the project’s financial, commercial, legal and technical feasibility of any given project. As the Project Manager, you will coordinate and work side by side with CRONIMET’s legal, technical and financial teams.

Job Description
• Manage entire solar PV project management chain with focus on the commercial aspects
• Manage and ensure effective engagement with all relevant stakeholders
• Lead the project development and implementation process and secure all required project permits and approvals
• Use financial models to support the analysis of solar PV projects
• Lead project introduction and discussions with local lenders to secure project finance
• Engage with legal teams during the contract development phase and actively participate in contract negotiations
• Monitor cash flow during the project construction phase
• Securing the on-time and on-budget implementation of projects
• Determination the financial, commercial, legal and technical feasibility of any given project
• Manage and coordinate the project team & develop team in line with growth objectives
• Manage the equipment and service supplier relationships and monitor that commercial obligations are met
• Collect, validate and keep relevant project development and EPC input data and project assumptions to determine market competitiveness and on time and underbudget delivery of commissioned PV power plants
• Assess operational infrastructure and identify key risks
• Remain abreast of industry trends, marketing pricing, regulatory matters and market events affecting clients and the industry

Skills Required
• Degree in business, legal or engineering
• 3+ years experience in Project Management of infrastructure projects
• Strong managerial skills
• Understanding of cash flow based financing
• Understanding of financial models and applying those models to real-world project execution
• Strong IT skills are necessary including Microsoft packages, specifically MS Excel at advanced level
• Proactive approach to finding solutions
• Excellent organizational skills, able to priorities and manage a number of tasks concurrently
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders across different levels in and out of the organization
• Fluent English, further languages can be of advantage
• Estimated travel percentage: up to 50% during critical project times
• Location is Windhoek, Namibia
