Divergent Capital Investments (Proprietary) Limited is a start-up private equity firm registered in Namibia as an unlisted investment manager. It acts as an Investment Manager for the Divergent Capital Fund which is registered in Namibia and intends to hold unlisted investments on behalf of investors. Divergent Capital Fund intends to invest in Namibian companies providing same with venture capital, expansion capital and mezzanine finance for the mandates we are seeking. Divergent Capital Investments (Proprietary) Limited is an investment manager only for unlisted investments in Namibian companies.


Your primary responsibility will be to support Managers in delivering their relevant engagements. Key tasks will include financial modelling, industry and company research (desktop and other financial / investment literature sources), data gathering and analysis as well as project management KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Perform rigorous data analysis and model development using conceptual and quantitative approaches;  Apply investment management / private equity / financial modelling approaches to propose solutions;  Prepare professionally written and concise documents and reports;

 Perform industry research and assist in identifying investment opportunities;  Interact and build relationships with peers and where appropriate clients and third-party vendors;  Liaises with clients from a knowledge / data / information gathering perspective to ensure that the requisite information / data is available;  Monitoring and reporting on the performance and activities within the portfolio, financial statement analysis and financial modelling;  Development of pitch books and support in debt raising processes; and  Perform valuations of portfolio companies.


 Quality of work delivered e.g. financial models;  Timely delivery of work;  Accurate and timely record keeping; and  Quality of the deliverable – including the use of the correct formats and layouts.

 Strong functional competence – demonstrate that you are up to date in terms of:  Current good practices;

 Templates and methodologies;  Accounting and financial matters;  A general knowledge of matters in the economy.  Strong financial modelling skills;  Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills;  Due diligence related knowledge (preferable);  Valuations knowledge (preferable); and  Corporate Finance knowledge (preferable).


 Articles at a Big 4 Accounting firm (preferable);  Up to 2 years post articles experience;  Personal entrepreneurial investments (preferable);  Due Diligence experience (preferable);  Valuations experience (preferable); and/or  Corporate finance experience (preferable).

KEY INTERFACES:  Executive Directors;  Associate / Senior Associate; and  Client.
