Financial Manager

Hiring Organisation: Elso Holdings (Pty) Ltd

Job Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible for the financial management of the company in terms of overseeing the financial goals, budgets and controls, managing all activities within the Finance Department, and supporting the executive team with key financial information and analysis necessary for strategic planning, including financial modelling and reporting, budget analysis, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs, and driving a culture of accountability.

Key Performance Areas:

• Provide financial insights and recommendations for financial strategy, policies and decisions
• Review, interpret and implement processes to adhere to all financial statutory legislation, regulations and generally accepted standards
• Lead and coordinate an integrated financial planning process which includes input from sales and operational expense units
• Advise on measures to improve profitability, and oversee financial internal controls
• Compile the annual working cost budget and analyze monthly financial reports and variances
• Manage the cash flow planning process to ensure funds availability
• Prepare the quarterly and annual financial statements
• Supervise the finance team and manage the day to day financial operations
• Oversee the stock and materials management operations
• Evaluate capital expenditure and contracts for financial viability
Educational and Experience Requirements
• Degree in Financial Management/Accounting
• At least 3-5 years appropriate experience at a financial management level

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:

• Outstanding knowledge and understanding of all applicable financial-related legislation
• Working knowledge of Pastel Evolution Accounting Software
• Computer literacy (MS Office especially Excel)
• Sound financial leadership ability with proven business effectiveness
• Excellent numeric skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytic, problem solving, judgement and decision-making skills
• High level of integrity
• Excellent planning and organising skills with the ability to plan strategically
• Strong interpersonal, communication and supervisory skills
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and be resilient
