WINDHOEK - IS COORDINATOR
(INFORMATION SYSTEMS & TECHNOLOGY CO-ORDINATOR)
* This position needs to be filled urgently*
General description of duties:
- Maintain and support computer systems, networks, printing, Internet, office and data systems
- Perform root cause analysis of complex system problems and provide corrective actions
- Direct and oversee IT projects and manage subsequent IT issues
- Ensure all staff follow established and required IT standards, guidelines and policies
- Analyse metrics to evaluate IT systems performance and recommend / implement improvements as authorised by management
- Ensure availability and optimal functionality of all necessary IT equipment, including update and upgrade software and hardware as required
- Liaise with management to implement a successful IT strategy and policy
- Assist with budget of IT expenses & purchase of new equipment and software
- Ensure all software and hardware fully functional and secured with back-ups, and ensure to maintain adequate diagnostic procedures
- Coordinate and liaise with external IT service providers for seamless IT functionality
- Determine and ensure required IT training is provided to all staff
- Maintain a register and ensure all IT licensing in place
- Test regularly and ensure a updated valid DRP in place
- Implement and execute daily server day-end procedures and backups
- Maintain and ensure adequate anti-virus and fire-wall protection & software in place
- Be responsible for optimal line networking including internal use, Intranet, Internet, connectivity to VWSA servers and all VWSA and DMS applications
- Implement required updates and upgrades of all applications
- Maintain procedural manuals in accordance with VWSA and other requirements
- Liaise with application head offices to log and control software issues and changes
- Ensure efficient password maintenance in place
Minimum requirements:
Educational Qualifications:
- Accredited IT qualifications and certification will be an advantage
- Namibian citizen
- Grade 12
- Valid driver's license
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience coordinating / supporting IT business processes
- Working experience in IT management with experience in
scheduling, budgeting and Unix fundamentals to maintain databases an advantage
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Office applications, Automate and BSI required
- Previous experience in dealing with Motor Dealership systems a definite advantage
Skills / competencies:
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team player with neat and professional outgoing personality
- Must be willing to work overtime within target date structures
- Perform well under pressure
- Assist with standby at all times and travel to attend to breakdowns
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent People, Planning & Organizing skills
- Perform tasks with accuracy and reliability without supervision
- Ability to take initiative in assisting where necessary
Added advantages / special requirements:
- High standard and work ethics a definite advantage
- Compliance certificate of Code of Conduct at Nampol is a requirement
- Positive assesments and approval by VWSA will be a prerequisite
- Valid driver's license and Namibian citizen
